UCLA Zoom Account Troubleshooting
Follow these troubleshooting steps and tips for problems with your UCLA Zoom account:
UCLA ZOOM ACCOUNT
Students, faculty and employees are eligible for a UCLA Zoom account. Verify your official "relationship" to the University by following these steps below:
DETERMINE YOUR OFFICIAL EMAIL AND RELATIONSHIP WITH THE UNIVERSITY
Visit https://accounts.iam.ucla.edu
-
Click My Personal Information and verify:
Your Relationship to the University?
Your Official Email Address?
ZOOM ACCOUNT vs UCLA ZOOM ACCOUNT
Is there a difference between a non-UCLA and a UCLA zoom account? What if I already had a Zoom account prior to joining UCLA wherein I used the same email which I provided during my hiring process as "my official email address?"
As part of your hiring process, your UCLA Zoom account is automatically created using the Official Email Address (2-b, above). However, if you already have a Zoom account prior to joining UCLA and used the same email address, UCLA will still provision you a Zoom account but will instead assign a Sign-In Email in the format of ucla_ followed by random characters (ex. ucla_GPe8cx).
If you sign-in to https://ucla.zoom.us and are presented with a random string of characters for your Sign-In Email then:
-
you may have been incorrectly identified as not associated to UCLA (i.e. your Relationship to the University is not student, employee or faculty). If so, please contact TFT HR or TFT Academic Personnel
- you had a Zoom account prior to joining UCLA. If so, you must:
Log in to zoom.us using your official email address (2-b)
Delete your Zoom account
Log in to ucla.zoom.us to activate your UCLA Zoom account
