New faculty and staff - UCLA Zoom Account, MFA, UCLA Logon ID
To create your UCLA Logon ID, activate Multi-Factor Authentication security and obtain a UCLA zoom account please follow these steps:
Your 9-digit UCLA ID is required to use any campus services and tools such as Zoom and CCLE/Moodle.
(1) Obtain your 9-Digit UCLA ID from the TFT HR office. For Academic employees with last names A-L, please contact Cindy Oshiro (coshiro@tft.ucla.edu). For Academic employees with last names M-Z, please contact Joycie Estrada (jestrada@tft.ucla.edu). They provide this ID as part of your hiring process.
After you receive your 9-Digit UCLA ID, (2) create your UCLA Logon ID. The UCLA Logon ID is required to access UCLA websites such as MyUCLA, your course website (CCLE), and to activate your UCLA Zoom license. To create your UCLA Logon ID visit https://accounts.iam.ucla.edu and click Create a UCLA Logon ID. Your 9-digit UCLA ID is required during this process. Please note that the UCLA Logon ID you create will be your @ucla.edu email address. For example, if your UCLA Logon ID is JoeBruin, you will automatically be provisioned a JoeBruin@ucla.edu email address.
After you have created your UCLA Logon ID, (3) activate UCLA's Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). For convenience, we recommend configuring your smartphone as your MFA security authentication device; although you may also use your landline. Visit https://www.it.ucla.edu/iamucla/enroll-multifactor for instructions on how to activate UCLA's MFA.
When you have configured your UCLA MFA, you must (4) contact your department administrator - Thai Sukrachan (thai@tft.ucla.edu) for Theater or Karl Holmes (kholmes@tft.ucla.edu) for FTVDM - and request that they add you to the campus directory (https://directory.ucla.edu). Changes to the campus directory are processed and posted nightly and are not immediately reflected until the following day.
While waiting for the directory to update, we recommend that you (5) activate your UCLA Zoom account by visiting https://ucla.zoom.us. Click Log in to Zoom. Your UCLA Logon ID and your MFA device are required during this process.
Once you are listed in the campus directory you can proceed to access your CCLE class website, Zoom class and other campus tools.
